Hawk View/Site F

Our Hawk View property is our largest property at approximately 75 acres. It is located along Rt 403 between Stoystown and Hooversville, backed by the Stonycreek River. This property houses a passive treatment system that flows about 150gpm. The system is currently taking raw water at 3.5pH and producing an effluent of approximately 7.0pH with major reductions in iron, aluminum and manganese.

Oaks Trail/Site D

The Oaks Trail property is also along Rt 403 between Stoystown and Hooversville. It is about 11 acres in size with a passive treatment site. This site also features a 1/2 mile of walking trails around the ponds. There is also some educational signage explaining the AMD treatment process.

Mallards Rest

Mallards Rest is located on Blacks Hill Rd, just outside of Boswell. This property is 40 acres and borders Quemahoning Creek. This treatment system is the largest by far, averaging over 1,000 gpm. They system is a series of ponds and wetlands that treat a net alkaline discharge with a large amount of iron. This property also features a large walking trail around the site.

Pletcher

Pletcher is located on Coal Run Rd in Boynton. It is approximately 15 acres and houses two treatment systems. The main system is a passive site that can treat up to 200gpm. The passive system is operated and maintained by the PA DEP. The other is an in stream treatment of Coal Run via a slip stream lime doser. This treatment requires no electricity and uses the running water to dose lime directly to Coal Run to add alkalinity.

Lambers Run

Lamberts Run is a 45 acre parcel on Stauffer Rd, backed against the Flight 93 National Park. This a passive treatment system that flows about 20gpm.

Site B

Site B is approximately 15 acres with a passive treatment system that is operated and maintained by the PA DEP Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation.
